Surgical Mask

N95 Masks

Medical masks are loose-fitting masks that create protection between the nose and mouth of the wearer. The design of the surgical masks allows for a protection barrier from contact with splashes, droplets and sprays that may contain germs in the immediate external environment of the wearer. Surgical masks are three-ply (contain three layers) made up of non-woven fabric placed between the most common melt-brown polymer, known as polypropylene.

FEATURES:

  • Light weight
  • Disposable
  • Fluid-Resistant
  • Loose fit to allow for easy breathing

The 2 ply face mask is a hygiene face mask that is cheap and made from the same material as regular face masks – polypropylene and another non-woven kind of material. However, the differentiator is that a 2-ply mask does not contain the centre filtration layer which keeps out bacteria and viruses.

The quality of a face mask is determined by its Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE), which measures the filtration efficiency of masks by using live bacteria or viable particles that can vary in size from 1 to 5 microns. A face mask relies on these microfiber filter media to capture microscopic particles.  The higher the BFE rating, the more protection offered to the wearer. 3-Ply masks have a 99% + BFE rating, while the 2-ply masks have a 80% BFE rating.

Masks have become a hot commodity and what better mask to have than a proudly South African mask manufactured in South Africa!

AMS Healthcare produces the highest quality 3-Ply medical masks for the South African market with a 95% + BFE rating and provides them at an affordable price. Manufactured using only the highest quality materials and featuring a unique design to South Africa, the medical masks have an outer ear loop for maximum comfort.

The masks are manufactured using spun-lace and spun-bond non-woven fabric and feature a melt-blown central filter layer, and each medical mask manufactured at AMS goes through a high quality UVC decontamination and sterilisation process to ensure all masks are safe. The medical masks are then finished off with a unique “Made in South Africa” stamp before being packaged and sold.
